Lately the pop up ads just pop in middle of the game and keep running in a loop. I deleted the app and I have had it for years.

They took my 1 time payment to remove ads but once I updated the app I’m now getting ads again. I feel scammed. I updated because it said it was just some bug fixes. This was my favorite 2048 app because of the previous design, but the update changed to a bulkier, slower design I dislike. And I’m getting ads again despite paying to remove them. Wish I could uninstall the update, this is obviously more than bug fixes.

Beautifully simple, fast paced, and endlessly challenging puzzle game

This app is a simple game but they keep making it worse. They keep adding more and more disruptive ads. I keep getting an ad that is just an extremely loud, high-pitched beep. Like why? Final straw is this app used 40% of my battery with 56 minutes of background activity. Why? What is it doing in the background? You are everything that is wrong with modern tech. I hate you.

Good but boring

This game is crazy simple and yet makes my phone BURN my hand and run slow

I’ve been playing this game off and on for 4-5 years. I’d play 4-5 games at a time for a few days in a row. Then wouldn’t play for a week or two. I once thought there must be a lot of luck involved getting it to the larger tiles until, about a month ago, I FINALLY figured out a (SIMPLE) system and almost always get the 1024 tile. Then last week, after a month of using this system, I got that 2084 tile!!! It felt amazing, yet, now I have no desire to play anymore. So instead of just not playing anymore, I thought I’d leave a review and tell my system. I wonder if anyone else does this or found a better way? The system: Never shift the tiles from Left to Right. Ever. That’s it. Up/Down, or right to left. But never Left to right. Try it. And then “return and report.”

Love this game but the app is slow and messes up the flow of the game. Please fix Edit: thank you for fixing the speed, but this game uses up a ridiculous amount of battery for what it does

I play this game way, way too much. (Convalescing, so whatcha gonna do?) Almost went 5-stars, but something about the game play just feels off. No offense; (I love this game. Oh, and I’m also seeing gestures not picked up properly, but it could be responsible. Ok, that’s it. Thanks. Paul Update: Gane has started to have performance issues. Could be the OS but I’m doubting that from my gameplay. Happens every game now.

I love 2048! The only thing that bothers me is that there is adds. Thank you.

The app surprised me, I had a great time, the game makes me think!!

I love how this game makes my phone run so hot from it’s incessant and unnecessary traffic for ads and data that most likely breaches privacy laws that i have the added benefit of cooking a meal on the back of my phone. It is nice to know when I am on a road trip i can always have a hot meal.

The app is just giving ads for scam and also leads to malware.

The one and only ad pops up in the middle of a move to tell you that your phone has been infected with a virus. When you finish the game, you have a bunch of open windows in safari to close.

While playing it will automatically open a browser saying “your phone has been hacked” the ads that are allowed to play in this game are all phishing attempts.

A few weeks ago I started having malware pop up through the ads in this game. I searched reviews and apparently am not the only one. I reached out for app support, but not response. I’m forced to delete this app. Too bad. I like the game.

As others have cited, the app is routinely opening a scam ad. The app will not show the ad banner, it will open Safari and claim viruses were detected on your phone. You don’t even have to click on the ad, it will open automatically multiple times within minutes. I’ve played this game for years and this problem started 2-3 months ago and it’s now the only ad I see. This app is not worth it anymore.

Game is fun, etc but every 2-3 minutes a new spam ad saying my iPhone has been infected with malware and tries selling some garbage security software. This is unacceptable.

I’ve been having a blast playing the game! But my high scores no longer update anymore and it’s quite annoying. Please fix this bug! I would like to see my updated 5 best high scores.

The interface is glitchy and doesn’t always swipe smoothly. Given this is a simple game played to unwind and relax this is unfortunate. There is a banner ad down the bottom which I guess is par for the course but also a full screen video every so often which is a total pain. Try a different version, this is just a ripoff in any case.

I’ve been playing this game awhile. I’ve had it on the last few phones. But tonight the app automatically opened safari and had a “malware scan” start out of nowhere. It beeped when I stopped swiping for a few minutes when I was watching tv. My media had a “macafee sound” that last played. Makes me concerned about my phones safety & pop ups. iPhone 15 Pro.

I’ve noticed that this game drains my battery and gets the back of my phone really hot. It’s either mining bitcoin or looping ads in the background so the developer reaps more revenue. Scummy behavior for sure

Got all the way to the 2nd to last move to combine two 512s to make my second 1024 on the board, and it crashed.. LAME. Delete.

now I get pop-up ads for other games. I did not have these before- maybe I paid a couple bucks for add- free I don’t remember. But I can’t get the pop- ups to stop.

This disgusting game showed me an add featuring a child with herpes. Despicable.

By playing the game and not clicking on an add at the bottom, my phone would automatically switch me to my internet browser to a website for a fraudulent anti-virus scheme. At first, I thought it was a one-off, as I've had this app for years. Also, it didn't even match the ad on my screen when switching back to the game. It continued to switch out of my app and redirect me to this very common scam attempt. After the third time in 5 min, it's clear this app is compromised and they either allow fraudulent ads to try and trick their consumers, or they incompetently allowed this connection to happen. Either way, this app can no longer be trusted.

Super relaxing and I have played this game for years and I still love it but I am sad that they removed the undo button.

I have to warn other players about this issue since it is a safety issue. In the last weeks, I have sent 2 emails requesting this issue to be fixed. I never even received an answer from the company. — I just started playing the 2048 game about a month ago. Within the last couple of weeks, I have been having some issues in the middle of my gameplay. As I am in the middle of making a move, the screen opens up to my web browser to trafficshield.XYZ. Upon research, I have discovered that these are Spam pop ups. Do not open these. Please fix this issue.

Why is it that every 2-3 minutes I get interrupted with a pop-up of an internet page that says it’s scanning for viruses? Then after the game ends, I wait 5 minutes for an ad to play through before I can close it and start a new game. I had to delete this app.

Fun game, but mid game about every 30 seconds it exits and opens a tab in my safari for a security ad that looks like it’s doing some sort of scan. It’s a little concerning. Tried deleting and redownloading the app, but it keeps doing it.

As others have said, this keeps redirecting to a site with a fake security scan. I think it might be the ad taking over the app, but in any case, I would look to downloading a different 2048 game until this is fixed

Playing the game a malicious ad came up reporting I have viruses on my device. Ridiculous that this is allowed in the App Store. 2048 deleted!

Was playing and must have tapped on an ad or something, because I was redirected to a site that had an .xyz domain and prompted me for my phone password, then started downloading something to my phone. I quickly exited the app placed my phone in airplane mode and deleted the app from my phone. Recommend removing all ads or verifying the ads that are allowed to make sure they are not harmful or invasive.

I am deleting this game from my phone because it has begun running ads that spontaneously open spam web pages on your phone browser. Not today, China.

This game has been solid in the past but recently it has been incredibly annoying because it’s launching a supposed malware scanner in Safari. Highly frustrating!!!

I haven’t played this game for months because this game is horribly unresponsive. I prefer the larger font and the version with the larger font was far more responsive. Also, the larger game over font looked much better because it was more attention-seeking. I hope this gets fixed soon. I’m very disappointed with the current version.

Really enjoyable version of the game. I hate now that it has been closing the game and opening a screen in my browser with a fake "security alert" page. This is no better than the scammers from another country who get you to call and take your money. Once this is removed, I might re-download the game.

The same night I downloaded this app I started getting redirected to scammy internet sites while using the app. Only occurs when app is in use. Something is amiss, beware of potential scam vulnerability.
